Dustbowl Housedress Distressing
Research
Distressing a stock dress using painting techniques and surface roughing to create an overall weathered look. Preval sprayers and AquaBrite textile paints were used to add sweat stains on the back/underarms and dirt concentrated around the hem while sandpaper was used to take down the shine on the buttons and loosen the fibers around the collar and pockets. Holes were mended more noticeably using embroidery floss and hanging belt loop was left unfixed but stabilized to prevent further wear.
